Self Esteem
Self esteem is not about what other people think of you.
Self esteem is not even about what you think of you.
Self esteem is about how you actually feel about yourself: how confident you actually feel, how worthy of happiness, how alive and happy.
So if you want your self esteem to grow, you’ve got to get up off your butt and go. Live. Move. Breathe. Experience. Take on the challenges. See that you’re capable of handling them. Enjoy yourself while you’re at it.
You haven’t got all day.
What the 60s Were About
If we’re currently experiencing a serious integration of the sexual and randian revolutions, here is a straightforward take on the former, from while it was happening, and from one of its artistic front-runners:
Innovative Footwear
I wager these shoes are revolutionary:

He designed the shoe largely on the basis of a serious study of the biomechanics of the ostrich.

Here is intriguing evidence that we are, indeed, entering a new cultural era — one that includes a renewed appreciation for uplift and individualism, but this time with a sensitivity to eastern wisdom as well:
The Human Distinction
Dear Homeland Master,
On my trip to earth, I have observed that of all the multitudinous animals in the earthly animal kingdom, only a member of that species known as “homo sapien” has the curious capacity, as a matured organism, to refuse to take care of itself.
It seems as though this capacity results from the homo sapien’s advanced nervous system, which allows it to remove its spirit from its body in such a way as to sever conscious connection to the Great Intelligence, and which enables it to develop modes of behavior that strike the homo sapien as profitable, from a purposefully limited vantage point.
I will continue to study this fascinating feature of the species, and will report back after fucking a turtle as you have instructed in your previous memo.
Andy Schwarhol
Why Change the World?
“Let’s change the world!” said the Bodhisattvah.
”Why?” asked the Bhiku.
“Ummmmm…” The Bodhisattvah paused. “Because it’s fun!”
And thus goes the death of the so-called ego.
Why Did The Buddhist Hot Dog Vendor Cross the Road?
Because he got tired of people coming up to him and saying, “hey, Buddhist Hot Dog Vendor, Make me One with Everything! Wahahahahahaha!!!!!”
And also because he wanted a cigarette.
Why Andy Schwarhol Loves People Who Say NO
Because someone who says no to you is someone you can trust.
Mr. T Learns Buddhism
Hey, you.
Yeah, I mean YOU.
Be an ACTOR in the play, but DON’T CONFUSE yourself for the CHARACTER you’re playing.
You got that, fool?
Depression
We, in the world, are coming to understand and heal from the Great Depression of the 1930s.
The trauma inflicted by this wound should not be underestimated.
A great many men, some of them great men, were mercilessly beat down. Beat down farther than the eye could see.
The culprit being our relationship with the government, which shifted from a manic inflationary episode in the 1920s to a sudden crash and pulling of the fake-money reins, tight, in the 1930s, not many wished to see the beast for what it was, for the same reason children prefer not to discover that their situation with their parents is drenched with evil.
It is, quite simply, too frightening.
“Me, evil?”
And so they forget it. They deny the reality of it. ‘Tis safer, to not acknowledge the demons, to not call them by name, to not acknowledge their power and force.
And, thusly, sadly, are they beat down.
But Heros Awaken. In the dark of night, they see forward with resolve. And they ultimately bring us crashing free of our delusions, free of our fallacies, free of our wretched innuendos.
The Soul on this godless night Awakens, and sees the forest and the trees.
